New Wash ‘n Go Regimen | Natural Hair

I’ve been natural since 2012 and I have not known about the “pre-poo method”. I research natural hair techniques on YouTube daily and I’ve come across a few vloggers lately that use this method to revive their curls after a blow out.

If you’re not familiar with this method let me share. You take your hair right before you begin to wash it for wash day. You use your favorite conditioner and rake your fingers throughout your hair. It maybe easier to section your hair , for example if you have an old twist out style, leave your hair as is. Take each section and a dime size of conditioner, and finger detangle from root to ends. You can leave the pre-poo product in for an hour or overnight, just place your hair into Bantu knots or two-strand twists.

I used the OGX Beauty Conditioner and I did not wet my hair at all. I’ve been wearing a twist out style for the last week, at night I put in jumbo flat twists and take them down each morning. I took each section and finger detangled with conditioner and I immediately seen my curls come alive. This method is used for naturals whom recently flat ironed their hair , or blow dried their hair to do a style, and want to revive their curls. *I did not get my hair flat ironed but it was blown out before my trim.*

I then proceed to co-wash my hair using Shea Moisture Sachi Inchi Oil Omega 3,6,9 Rescue & Repair Co-Wash.

It has been a while since I did a deep condition and typically I do this once a week especially during the winter. After rinsing out the co-wash, I T-shirt dried my hair and deep condition and place a shower cap on my hair for 30 minutes. Using Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque.

After the deep condition I follow-up with the LOC Method. I used OGX Beauty Leave-In or Rinse-Out Curling Hair Butter , OGX Beauty Coconut Curls Curl Styling Milk, OGX Beauty Bamboo Fiber-Full thickening Fiber Cream.

After this, you can blow dry using a diffuser or you can air dry. I chose to air dry as I had nowhere to go and I wouldn’t be out in the cold weather.

Here is the final look.

I am due for my next trim in April. Until then I will continue to do the wash ‘n go or flat twists hairstyles. This Winter I’ve opted to not do a protective style and I will also refrain from using a brush as you shouldn’t brush your curls. I will also make sure I moisturize my hair daily especially with my hair colored black.
