Natural Hair Chronicles : Defined Flat Twist Out

Happy Thursday! Hope you all are having a good week. I just wanted to share with you my recent flat twist out style turned out awesome. So happy, it’s crazy the same hairstyle but different hair products can show different results. I wanted to share the products I used, how I flat twist my hair and also what I do to take them down.

I placed Giovanni Deep Moisture conditioner in my hair while my hair was dry, I placed a shower cap on my hair and proceeded to shower. Once I was finished showering I co-washed my hair with Shea Moisture Co-Washing Cleanser.

I then dried my hair the micro-fiber towel that I purchased from Walgreen’s for $5.

After drying my hair , I used the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Extra Moisture Detangler, making it so easy and less time-consuming detangling my hair all while keeping my hair moisturized and less breakage

I sectioned my hair into two sections , braiding flat twists to the back, two in the center and then braiding twists to the front. For my styling products I used Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk, and the Curl Enhancing Smoothie, and I used a little bit of the Raw Shea Butter Reconstructive Hair Elixer.

I parted my hair with my fingers, and I kept the twists in over night and did not take them down until the Afternoon. Typically 8-12 hours is enough time as long as your hair is completely dry, and you can also put rods at your ends, I just chose not to as my ends are pretty healthy and curled on their own.

Here is the finished look:

Thank you all for reading! Have you tried the flat twist out style? What products do you use?
